Circle of Security Groups in Scarborough

Circle of Security groups are for families with babies aged 4 to 24 months who live in and around Scarborough. If you're a mum, dad, grandparent, foster carer, or any other primary caregiver, we'd love for you to join us!

How does it work?

The group is eight sessions long. It only meets during school term time. We have no more than eight parents in the group.

We know coming to a new group can be scary, so we meet with every family at least twice before the first group session.

We want you to feel welcome and safe! We provide hot and cold drinks plus snacks. If transport is an issue, we can also help with that.

What is Circle of Security?

Becoming a parent can bring challenges you might not have expected. It can feel stressful or overwhelming at times. Our Circle of Security group is here to help.

You might want to understand your child's emotional needs better, learn more about their development, or feel more confident in how you respond to them.

The group is non-blaming and encourages reflection – we don’t tell you what to do, instead we discuss experiences and think through new solutions together.

The overall aim of Circle of Security is to strengthen the bond between you and your baby. This helps your baby to explore their world and seek comfort from you, setting them up for lifelong positive wellbeing.

We support you to read your child’s cues; helping you to build your understanding of what they need from you. This also helps you to manage any behaviours that you are finding tricky.
